The Uphill Slide

There is always something.

Reaching That Age

I will be 65 in May. Every day brings mail offering me hearing aids, medicare supplements, medic alert bracelets, insurance for those ‘who can’t be turned down’, personal alarm devices and funeral plots. Today I came back in the house to find the message light blinking. Great deal on a medic alert bracelet!

Who gave them my address? Who gave them my telephone number? Why do they think I need these things? Are they prejudiced against 60 somethings? Don’t call me, I’ll call you.

Here is the line in the sand for me. If anybody ever describes me as an elderly woman before I reach 90, there will be hell to pay.
